After 23 minutes, Cameron Watson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Taynuilt and the Berriedale players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Taynuilt getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Cameron Watson hit a great ball. In the 28th minute, Berriedale's Darren McFarlane seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Darren McFarlane the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Berriedale protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Darren McFarlane had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Berriedale fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 27th minute. Penalty! Kenny Cowie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Graham having to interfere. Taynuilt's Martin Graham proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Taynuilt from getting a goal against them. Timothy McCanish struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Martin Graham didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Berriedale. 43 minutes into the game, Stewart McCammond was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Berriedale's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Taynuilt the free kick. After 43 played minutes Berriedale got a freekick which was hit by Stewart McCammond. Paddy Tarrill struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Andrew Carruthers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Taynuilt. Berriedale's Andrew Carruthers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donald McConacher in the 48th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Timothy McCanish to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Max Alderson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rod McLehose hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Timothy McCanish sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Berriedale's Kenny Cowie got a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 66th minute Kieran McGorrie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrew Carruthers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Berriedale's Andrew Carruthers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Berriedale from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donald McConacher in the 86th minute of play forced Berriedale's goalkeeper Andrew Carruthers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cameron Watson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrew Carruthers having to interfere. When Donald McConacher fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Taynuilt's protests and gave Donald McConacher a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Taynuilt getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Donald McConacher hit a great ball. Timothy McCanish received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Martin Graham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Berriedale's Timothy McCanish got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
