An unexpectedly hard shot by James McBean in the 48th minute of play forced Cromarty's goalkeeper Malcolm Ingram to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Dougal McKellaig scored 1-4 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Malcolm Ingram, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 59 minutes into the match, Cromarty's goalkeeper Malcolm Ingram had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raymond Elliott. With a little luck, Cromarty's Malcolm Ingram got control of the ball when Dougal McKellaig tried to sneak it across the goal line. Malcolm Ingram made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from James McBean in the 94th minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, Newcastleton's goal looked a bit too open when Nick McIldowie came free, but John McIlduy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Newcastleton eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
