Oliver Williamson hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. After 9 played minutes Dunnottar Athletic got a freekick which was hit by Robbie Abbot. Dunnottar Athletic's Ricky Hewitt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliver Williamson in the 12th minute of play. Gareth Cunningham could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Owen Jones made a huge save. Steven Dunn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Owen Jones showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steven Dunn, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Owen Jones made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Gareth Cunningham sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Terence McLachlan in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Owen Jones prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jack Purcell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricky Hewitt having to interfere. Roddie McVicar received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Owen Jones came out and tried to block the shot, but Roddie McVicar slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 28th minute. In the 31st minute of the match Ter McGillivour shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Owen Jones showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ricky Hewitt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Les Barnes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Oban's Les Barnes got a free kick in the 37th minute. Ricky Hewitt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jack Purcell in the 43rd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 48 minutes, Steven Dunn took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Owen Jones to make any attempt to save it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Owen Jones showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steven Dunn, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Jack Purcell notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Dunnottar Athletic's Ricky Hewitt. Ricky Hewitt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 79th minute, Steven Dunn made a precise shot to the right of Owen Jones. Oban's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Dunnottar Athletic's Larry Fair was substituted for Gareth Cunningham. 85 minutes into the game, Steven Dunn cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Owen Jones was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 92nd minute Larry Fair shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Owen Jones saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dunnottar Athletic's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
