Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the match, Wayne Pollard notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Golspie's James Elliott. James Elliott was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wayne Pollard in the 8th minute of play forced Golspie's goalkeeper James Elliott to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Golspie's James Elliott played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Finlay Gifford in the 10th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Tommy Binnie ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. James Elliott was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The supporters of Golspie booed when Inverness Warriors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Neil Howison didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute, Michael Barns reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Iain Lambie. The goal made the score 1-2. In the 20th minute, Golspie's Owen Murray seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Owen Murray the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Golspie protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Owen Murray had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee gave Inverness Warriors a penalty, 21 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Finlay Gifford, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Golspie's James Elliott. 1-3. In the 27th minute of the match, Harold McPhater got a very nice opportunity to score, but Iain Lambie was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Graeme Elliott got free with Iain Lambie in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tommy Binnie hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. When the match clock showed 30 minutes, the score became 2-3 when Harold McPhater sped through Inverness Warriors's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Iain Lambie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Keith McNie in the 32nd minute of play forced Golspie's goalkeeper James Elliott to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute Graeme Elliott shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iain Lambie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd minute Wayne Pollard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but James Elliott saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Harold McPhater had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-4.

The wind increased when Wayne Pollard made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Golspie's James Elliott got control of the ball when Wayne Pollard tried to sneak it across the goal line. 2-5 became the score in the 54th minute when Finlay Gifford elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 56 played minutes Golspie got a freekick which was hit by Graeme Elliott. Wayne Pollard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. James Elliott tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Keith McNie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without James Elliott having to interfere. Tommy Binnie struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. James Elliott didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Inverness Warriors. In the 70th minute Harold McPhater shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iain Lambie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Inverness Warriors's Iain Lambie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harold McPhater in the 77th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Graeme Elliott in the 78th minute of play forced Inverness Warriors's goalkeeper Iain Lambie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Harold McPhater's late challenge caught a Inverness Warriors's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Harold McPhater helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Inverness Warriors booed when Golspie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harold McPhater didn't get a good kick on the ball. James Elliott made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Wayne Pollard sent off a good shot on target. Iain Lambie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harold McPhater, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Golspie fans' excitement grew in the 94th match minute when Golspie's Graeme Elliott looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-7 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The Golspie supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Inverness Warriors's performance. The match ended with a win for Inverness Warriors.
