Jo&Jo Stadium
Spectators: 7600 (Terracing: 5500,
Seating: 2000, VIP seats: 100) Kirriemuir's Gregor Harold started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the game, Jo&Jo ™'s Paddy McBain nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Norman Alder made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Paddy McBain took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Norman Alder. Norman Alder dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Charles Luke hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paddy McBain got free with Norman Alder in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Norman Alder made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Craig Duthie sent off a good shot on target. Jack Esson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrew Combie having to interfere. 28 minutes into the match, Kirriemuir's goal looked a bit too open when Terry McAllan came free, but Norman Alder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kirriemuir's Norman Alder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Terry McAllan in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th minute of the match, Paddy McBain got a very nice opportunity to score, but Norman Alder was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Terry McAllan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jo&Jo ™'s supporters rose to their feet, but Terry McAllan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Norman Alder breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dean Munro hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 36th minute of the match Marc McBheath shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Norman Alder showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Kirriemuir's goalkeeper Norman Alder had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Craig Duthie. The crowd rose to their feet as Jo&Jo ™'s Terry McAllan slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Norman Alder. That made the score 5-0 after 40 minutes of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.
In the 54th match minute, Kirriemuir was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmond McLintock to maneuver through the defense. Les Gillies recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 59th minute, Craig Duthie made a precise shot to the right of Norman Alder. Kirriemuir's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. Norman Alder came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Jo&Jo ™'s Craig Duthie. But to his dismay, Craig Duthie quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. Norman Alder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paddy McBain in the 69th minute of the match. In the 75th minute, Terry McAllan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Norman Alder was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. Kirriemuir's Norman Alder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Craig Duthie in the 79th minute of play. Norman Alder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Terry McAllan, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Kirriemuir's Jack Esson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Andrew Combie. That made the score 9-1 after 86 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Terry McAllan in the 90th minute of play forced Kirriemuir's goalkeeper Norman Alder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 93 played minutes Jo&Jo ™ got a freekick which was hit by Les Gillies. In the 96th minute, Craig Duthie left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jo&Jo ™ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 10-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Jo&Jo ™ fully deserved thier win.
