Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Wayne Pollard started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute, Wayne Pollard made a precise shot to the right of Ronan McCune. Ellon's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 7th minute, Darius Robson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Inverness Warriors's zone, Grant McBurie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iain Lambie came out of the goal and Grant McBurie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lee Martin's late challenge caught a Ellon's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lee Martin helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ellon booed when Inverness Warriors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lee Martin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frankie Malcolmson lost his temper 12 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 12th minute, one of Ellon:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ellon. Patrick McLea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iain Lambie having to interfere. In the 21st minute Terence McCamie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iain Lambie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Declan McKichan was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 24 minutes into the match. Darius Robson struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Iain Lambie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ellon. 27 minutes into the game, Roddie McFeat was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Inverness Warriors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ellon the free kick. Keith McNie hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. 42 minutes into the match, Ellon's goal looked a bit too open when Finlay Gifford came free, but Ronan McCune reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronan McCune made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Tommy Binnie sent off a good shot on target. Keith McNie struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ronan McCune prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Keith McNie came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Inverness Warriors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Keith McNie couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Ellon booed when Inverness Warriors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lee Martin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute of the match Roddie McFeat shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ronan McCune showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Inverness Warriors booed when Ellon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joshua Alcorn didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Ellon supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Inverness Warriors's performance. The match ended with a win for Inverness Warriors.
