Grant Gordon hit a great ball. Stephen Lamont showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grant Gordon in the 16th minute of the match. Archie Small received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Keith Abbott tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Les McCaa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stephen Lamont made an important save on a dangerous shot by Raymond McPherson in the 24th minute. Stromness's Stephen Lamont proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Stromness from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Raymond McPherson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Biggar of the North's supporters rose to their feet, but Raymond McPherson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stephen Lamont breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grant Gordon in the 47th minute of play forced Stromness's goalkeeper Stephen Lamont to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 49th minute of the match Biggar of the North got a corner. Stromness's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Les Gilbert ran over to the corner to take the kick.

Stromness's Archie Small got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 59 played minutes, Biggar of the North's Steve Dis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Stephen Lamont came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Biggar of the North reached it. Grant Gordon kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. 64 minutes into the match, Stromness's goal looked a bit too open when Grant Gordon came free, but Stephen Lamont reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stephen Lamont made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Grant Gordon in the 65th minute of play. In the 67th minute Raymond McPherson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stephen Lamont saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the game, Declan McCartair was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Biggar of the North's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stromness the free kick. After 71 played minutes Biggar of the North got a freekick which was hit by Declan McCartair. Les McCaa struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Keith Abbott didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stromness. Les McCaa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keith Abbott having to interfere. Stromness's Phillip McAndrew quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Biggar of the North succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Stromness had controlled the match.
