Spectators: 9292 (Terracing: 6970, Seating: 2137, VIP seats: 185) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gregor McKichan started the match with the kick off. In the 4th match minute, ARBROATH FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliver Borthwick to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Harry McFie in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sean McEoin saved Stirling from getting behind. In the 10th minute, Davie McCaig made a precise shot to the right of Sean McEoin. Stirling's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Ian McCabe came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Stirling's Gregor McKichan. But to his dismay, Gregor McKichan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Les Buntain in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ian McCabe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. ARBROATH FC's Ian McCabe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gareth Hawes in the 19th minute of play. ARBROATH FC's Harry McFie got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tony McLardy kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the game, one of Stirling:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 36 minutes into the match, Gregor McKichan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ian McCabe. ARBROATH FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gregor McKichan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. In the 38th minute Gregor McKichan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ian McCabe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Quentin Meine took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ian McCabe. Ian McCabe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. Nicholas Dowe hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute, ARBROATH FC's Harry McFie dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-3. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-3.

In the 62nd minute, Harry McFie left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ARBROATH FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-3. Oliver Borthwick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ian McCabe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gregor McKichan in the 68th minute of play. When Oliver Borthwick fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ARBROATH FC's protests and gave Oliver Borthwick a yellow card for diving instead. Oliver Borthwick hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Stirling's Gareth Hawes got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Les Buntain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Les Buntain recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of ARBROATH FC booed when Stirling was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Quentin Meine didn't get a good kick on the ball. ARBROATH FC's Davie McCaig got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gregor McKichan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 85 played minutes ARBROATH FC got a freekick which was hit by Oliver Borthwick. Ian McCabe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gregor McKichan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Stirling getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Quentin Meine hit a great ball. In the game's 91st minute ARBROATH FC's Ross Kendrick took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Sean McEoin and thus the score was 7-3. 98 minutes into the match, ARBROATH FC's goalkeeper Ian McCabe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Les Buntain. ARBROATH FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
