ARBROATH FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Harry McFie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kieran Griffin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 18 played minutes Athletic Hearts got a freekick which was hit by Romão Leão. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ahmet Erdem Aras during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 19th match minute, Athletic Hearts was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ahmet Erdem Aras to maneuver through the defense. The tension between the Athletic Hearts and the ARBROATH FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 38th minute, Davie McCaig ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kieran Griffin was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ahmet Erdem Aras was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Athletic Hearts getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Romão Leão hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Harry McFie managed to get in a good position for a shot. ARBROATH FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Harry McFie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Athletic Hearts were awarded a corner in the 68th minute after ARBROATH FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rory Lombard took the corner. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ahmet Erdem Aras couldn't finish the play. Kieran Griffin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harry McFie, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. 93 minutes into the match, ARBROATH FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rory Lombard came free, but Ian McCabe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
