Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Highland Warriors's Greg McConochie started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Chris Mark stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Simon McQuistan's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. The audience was convinced that Simon McQuistan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Chris Mark was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. 12 minutes into the game, one of Highland Warriors:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Chris Mark, was totally fooled by Perth's Bob Carlyle, who 13 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Highland Warriors's goalkeeper Chris Mark, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Highland Warriors getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Greg McConochie hit a great ball. In the 20th minute, Jeremy McGlasrich hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chris Mark took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simon McQuistan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 26 minutes, Alan Cunningham mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Highland Warriors and the Perth players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alan Cunningham hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Simon Duffy took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Chris Mark. Chris Mark dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. 35 minutes into the match, Highland Warriors's goalkeeper Chris Mark had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Simon Duffy. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Perth's Simon McQuistan in the 37th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Chris Mark was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Highland Warriors through an amazing save. Chris Mark made an important save on a dangerous shot by Simon Duffy in the 41st minute. Greg McConochie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tyler Graham having to interfere. Simon McQuistan scored 4-0 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Chris Mark, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Simon McQuistan to make the kick off. After 53 played minutes Perth got a freekick which was hit by Bob Carlyle. 56 minutes into the match, Simon Duffy notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Highland Warriors's Chris Mark. Chris Mark was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Highland Warriors's Chris Mark played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simon Duffy in the 61st minute of play. Simon Duffy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 69thth minute of the game Simon McQuistan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Highland Warriors's Chris Mark was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Simon Duffy in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Chris Mark saved Highland Warriors from getting behind. Declan Gallie hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 76th minute, Greg McConochie ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tyler Graham was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. Greg McConochie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tyler Graham showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Declan Gallie, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. 90 minutes into the game, Quentin McIlreach was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Perth's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Highland Warriors the free kick. The supporters of Highland Warriors booed when Perth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Quentin McIlreach didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Highland Warriors's zone, Simon McQuistan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chris Mark came out of the goal and Simon McQuistan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Simon Duffy came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Perth fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simon Duffy couldn't finish the play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Highland Warriors players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Perth.
