Jason Clayton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gregor Menzies, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Glasgow Rangers FC's Ben Buchan was substituted for Vincent Huntly. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Glasgow Rangers FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Benjamin Duffus was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Arthur Barns didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Damian Bambas went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thor Brask in the 78th minute of play forced Glasgow Rangers FC's goalkeeper Arthur Barns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
