Glasgow Rangers FC's Ben Buchan was substituted for Vincent Huntly. The wind increased when Barry Gilbert made the kick off in the second half. In the 61st minute, Smiddy Celts's Graeme McRobie ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Arthur Barns. Arthur Barns yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-8. Smiddy Celts's Wal McVean was substituted for Mbadiwe Mpenza. Paddy Thomson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arthur Barns having to interfere. Smiddy Celts made a substitution. Sean McDrain replaced Graeme Gordon. Arthur Barns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sean McDrain in the 70th minute of play. When the match clock showed 72 minutes, the score became 0-9 when Graeme McRobie sped through Glasgow Rangers FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Arthur Barns. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Phillip McKeochan put it in 0-10 from a short distance just to the right of Arthur Barns. Phillip McKeochan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Arthur Barns made a huge save. Through an outstanding action, after 78 minutes, Arthur Barns successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After some careless play in the Glasgow Rangers FC defense, Sean McDrain kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arthur Barns. The Glasgow Rangers FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arthur Barns should have stopped the shot. 83 minutes into the match, Paddy Thomson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arthur Barns. Paddy Thomson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-13. Phillip McKeochan's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 89thth minute, Arthur Barns skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Phillip McKeochan succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-14 in the 91st playminute.
