Jairo Viator fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Mendonça having to interfere. Carlos Brás made an important save on a dangerous shot by Patrício Guimarães in the 6th minute. SC Mirense's Carlos Brás proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save SC Mirense from getting a goal against them. After 8 minutes of play, SC Mirense's João Resende made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Daniel Mendonça was left in no man's land by his defense there! When SC Mirense's Jairo Viator in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Castanhal's goalie prevented a goal. Jairo Viator sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, João Resende put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Daniel Mendonça. After a defensive mix-up in SC Castanhal's zone, Jairo Viator stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniel Mendonça came out of the goal and Jairo Viator tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 38th minute, João Resende ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Daniel Mendonça was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Daniel Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Resende, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when João Resende made the kick off in the second half. Nuno Alvarenga hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Mário Cunha's late challenge caught a SC Castanhal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mário Cunha helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, SC Mirense's Mário Cunha got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 56th minute of the match Nuno Alvarenga shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlos Brás showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. SC Castanhal's Duarte Liberato managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Delfim Machado in the 62 minute of the game. After 63 played minutes SC Mirense got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Rocha. Silvano Luz hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. If João Resende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Silvano Luz fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Castanhal's protests and gave Silvano Luz a yellow card for diving instead. When the match clock showed 74 minutes, the score became 0-4 when João Resende sped through SC Castanhal's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Daniel Mendonça. In the 77th match minute, SC Castanhal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvano Luz to maneuver through the defense. Jairo Viator could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Daniel Mendonça made a huge save. If Jairo Viator had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Mirense's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
