But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mário Salvado couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Ventozelo FC's zone, Rafael Santarém stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vicente Silva came out of the goal and Rafael Santarém tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mário Salvado's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Vicente Silva firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ventozelo FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Castanheira F C had controlled the match.
