In the 4th minute, Armando Guarda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to SC Lagoaca getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Joaquim Gameiro hit a great ball. Joaquim Gameiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Fábio Pereira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ivan Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. If Vítor Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, Armando Guarda left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The NSPM fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. SC Lagoaca's Ivan Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vítor Reis in the 24th minute of play. Ivan Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Guarda, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Vítor Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emílio Gonçalves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ivan Leite having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Vítor Reis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ivan Leite was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Ivan Leite didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Armando Guarda went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Máximo Portela was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, SC Lagoaca's goalkeeper Ivan Leite had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vítor Reis. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Máximo Portela during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vítor Reis in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ivan Leite prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vítor Reis's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ivan Leite firmly grabbed it by the left post. SC Lagoaca's Ivan Leite proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save SC Lagoaca from getting a goal against them. Vítor Reis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Leite having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, Armando Guarda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 64th minute Armando Guarda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jarbas Godinho charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jarbas Godinho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vítor Reis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 70thth minute, Ivan Leite skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Vítor Reis managed to get in a good position for a shot. NSPM's supporters rose to their feet, but Vítor Reis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivan Leite breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 83rd minute Vítor Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fábio Pereira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Máximo Portela in the 87th minute of play. Joaquim Gameiro came free in the 89th minute and tried to tip the ball over Fábio Pereira, but to the joy of NSPM's supporters the ball went over. Emílio Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Ivan Leite tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The SC Lagoaca fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. NSPM were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
