Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rui Garcia in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Octávio Fonseca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Octávio Fonseca didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Inácio Assis went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Afonso Assis was a little too slow when Sílvio Poças got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 16th minute. The score was now 2-1. After 20 minutes, Rui Garcia made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. Alturense's Octávio Fonseca tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Afonso Assis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Vilalobos in the 23rd minute of play. Afonso Assis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emílio Tristão in the 24th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tobias Costa got free with Afonso Assis in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Afonso Assis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Poças, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. The audience was convinced that Rui Garcia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Octávio Fonseca was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rui Garcia to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Raul Ferrão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Alturense's zone, Rauf Ulu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Octávio Fonseca came out of the goal and Rauf Ulu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 58 played minutes Alturense got a freekick which was hit by Artur Caires. A hard shot 60 in the game by Rui Garcia from a close distance when the talented Octávio Fonseca managed to make a qualified save. Alturense's players were relieved. In the 61st minute Tobias Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Assis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rui Garcia in the 64thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Octávio Fonseca, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The supporters of FC PORTO booed when Alturense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Vilalobos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Inácio Assis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Octávio Fonseca having to make a save. Afonso Assis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sílvio Poças in the 71st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Poças in the 76th minute of play forced FC PORTO's goalkeeper Afonso Assis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC PORTO's Rui Garcia managed to work through Alturense's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Rui Garcia dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Inácio Assis struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Octávio Fonseca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC PORTO. Afonso Assis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tobias Costa in the 81st minute of play. Afonso Assis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sílvio Poças, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Rui Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Rui Garcia put it in 4-4 from a short distance just to the right of Octávio Fonseca. The FC PORTO players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Alturense from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
