Spectators: 6664 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1664, VIP seats: 0) Nuno Araújo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Heitor Paixão went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 7 minutes into the game, Heitor Paixão cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Nuno Araújo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nuno Araújo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kevin Pinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16thth minute of the game Kevin Pinho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Canada FC's Nuno Araújo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Emílio Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gualter Lessa having to interfere. In the 21st minute Emílio Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gualter Lessa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Rocha's late challenge caught a Merentes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulo Rocha helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Canada FC's Paulo Rocha got a free kick in the 24th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Canada FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kevin Pinho came free, but Nuno Araújo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 27 minutes, Óscar Leão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Canada FC and the Merentes players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 27th minute, Óscar Leão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Merentes's Gualter Lessa got control of the ball when Fernando Amaral tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Fernando Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th match minute, Canada FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Rocha to maneuver through the defense. Fernando Amaral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Heitor Paixão blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nuno Araújo having to make a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kevin Pinho made a kick off. If Fernando Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodrigo Coimbra charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rodrigo Coimbra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rodrigo Coimbra hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Canada FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 59th minute, when Kevin Pinho scored to the left of an out of position Nuno Araújo, making the score, 0-3. If Heitor Paixão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Heitor Paixão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Araújo having to interfere. Heitor Paixão struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Nuno Araújo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Merentes. If Heitor Paixão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 78 minutes, Heitor Paixão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Merentes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Heitor Paixão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rodrigo Coimbra kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Kevin Pinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Araújo having to interfere. Canada FC's Nuno Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kevin Pinho in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th minute, Merentes's Kevin Pinho dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. If Heitor Paixão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Merentes played a much better game than Canada FC and deserved their victory. The Canada FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
