Juvenal Guerreiros short, quick shot in the 30thth minute got Teodoro Caldeira to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. António Ornelas took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Romão Veiga. Romão Veiga dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. With a little luck, Caramujo's Teodoro Caldeira got control of the ball when Juvenal Guerreiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Mutela getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Diamantino Sacadura hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gusmão Guterres was the one to do the kick off. Romão Veiga made an important save on a dangerous shot by António Ornelas in the 53rd minute. Valentim Toscano hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Enzo Gaspar took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 57th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Teodoro Caldeira. Enzo Gaspar was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 77th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Teodoro Caldeira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Juvenal Guerreiro's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. 83 minutes into the game, Vasco Candeias was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mutela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caramujo the free kick. The supporters of Caramujo booed when Mutela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vasco Candeias didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 85 minutes, Afonso Quental managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caramujo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso Quental was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gusmão Guterres in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Teodoro Caldeira saved Caramujo from getting behind. In the 92nd minute, Normando Lustosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juvenal Guerreiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 95 minutes of play Mutela's Vasco Candeias was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Caramujo booed when Mutela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vasco Candeias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chants of Caramujo echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Mutela had held the ball for most of the match.
