Spectators: 7217 (Terracing: 5474, Seating: 1678, VIP seats: 65) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Paulo Luz kicked off to start the match. Sebastião Guarda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Homero Castanheira in the 6th minute of the match. Ermesinde United SC's Sebastião Guarda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Amaro in the 8th minute of play. After 12th play minutes Paulo Luz shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Ivo Ferro and just under the crossbar into goal. Sebastião Guarda came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Carlao's Homero Castanheira. But to his dismay, Homero Castanheira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 21st match minute, Carlao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hipólito Soares to maneuver through the defense. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Carlao's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mário Antunes was slow to take the kick. During this time Ermesinde United SC's players had a chance to rest. After a rather tough play, Ermesinde United SC's António Reis got a free kick in the 29th minute. Luís Morais received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Ivo Ferro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ivo Ferro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulo Luz in the 34th minute. António Reis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivo Ferro having to interfere. With a little luck, Carlao's Ivo Ferro got control of the ball when Paulo Luz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mário Antunes hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. 42 minutes into the match, Ermesinde United SC's goal looked a bit too open when Abílio Esteves came free, but Sebastião Guarda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Amaro in the 47th minute of play forced Ermesinde United SC's goalkeeper Sebastião Guarda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Ermesinde United SC's Sebastião Guarda got control of the ball when Homero Castanheira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Homero Castanheira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Sebastião Guarda made a huge save. Sebastião Guarda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Caldeira in the 56th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Carlao's zone, Paulo Luz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivo Ferro came out of the goal and Paulo Luz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 63 minutes into the game, Abílio Esteves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carlao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ermesinde United SC the free kick. A collision led to Carlao getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Abílio Esteves hit a great ball. In the 65th minute Paulo Luz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo Ferro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If António Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sebastião Guarda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augusto Caldeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. 77 minutes into the match, Ermesinde United SC's goalkeeper Sebastião Guarda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Homero Castanheira. Ermesinde United SC's Adelino Domingues was substituted for Afonso Miranda. When the match clock showed 87 minutes, the score became 3-2 when Paulo Luz sped through Carlao's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ivo Ferro. Paulo Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivo Ferro having to interfere. Ermesinde United SC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
