After 5 minutes, Lúcio Regalado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Caeiros and the Verdelhos players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lúcio Regalado kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. SC Caeiros's Cassiano Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filipe Taborda in the 8th minute of play. Roberto Gago in the 12thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Cassiano Mendes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Lucas Sabrosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Sá having to interfere. In the 23rd minute of the match SC Caeiros got a corner. Verdelhos's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Aloísio Fiúza ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 31st minute of the match Bento Lobo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gonçalo Sá skillfully saved the ball. Hermes Tinoco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Gonçalo Sá tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cassiano Mendes made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Cândido Regalado sent off a good shot on target. Cassiano Mendes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filipe Taborda in the 38th minute of play. Gonçalo Sá took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hermes Tinoco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roberto Gago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Roberto Gago came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Verdelhos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roberto Gago couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hermes Tinoco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hermes Tinoco in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gonçalo Sá saved Verdelhos from getting behind. When Filipe Taborda came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Verdelhos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filipe Taborda couldn't finish the play. 56 minutes into the game, Éder Lisboa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Verdelhos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Caeiros the free kick. In the 56th minute, Éder Lisboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Lucas Sabrosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. Gonçalo Sá made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Hermes Tinoco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. In the 69th minute Filipe Taborda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cassiano Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roberto Gago's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cassiano Mendes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Roberto Gago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th play minute Lucas Sabrosa came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Gonçalo Sá. 0-2. 91 minutes into the match, SC Caeiros's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Gago came free, but Cassiano Mendes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gaspar Vilela's late challenge caught a Verdelhos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gaspar Vilela helped the player get up and apologised. In the 92nd match minute, SC Caeiros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaspar Vilela to maneuver through the defense. Roberto Gago recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SC Caeiros eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
