Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Raul Amaro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernardo Lisboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Paulo Alves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio Di Pietrantonio, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Bernardo Lisboa made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Gabriel Neto sent off a good shot on target. Gabriel Neto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Bernardo Lisboa made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amadeu Rocha got free with Bernardo Lisboa in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Claudio Di Pietrantonio made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Claudio Di Pietrantonio dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Paulo Alves, 1-1. The audience was convinced that Rafal Paprotny's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bernardo Lisboa was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Claudio Di Pietrantonio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Alves having to interfere.
