Fábio Borba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geraldo Castanheira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 4th match minute, Cabaninhas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simão Valverde to maneuver through the defense. If Geraldo Castanheira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Geraldo Castanheira kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. In the 14th minute, Ricardo Baldaia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nivaldo Taborda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo Baldaia in the 17th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Coimbrões's zone, Ricardo Baldaia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nivaldo Taborda came out of the goal and Ricardo Baldaia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cabaninhas's Albertino Vilanova got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With his leg Nivaldo Taborda managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Cabaninhas's Albertino Vilanova fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ricardo Baldaia let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 25th minute shot 1-0 at rihgt post. Cabaninhas's Fábio Borba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geraldo Castanheira in the 30th minute of play. Nivaldo Taborda was out of position in the 32 minute of play, and Ricardo Baldaia capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ricardo Baldaia really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Amável Eiró kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Rui Costa hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Albertino Vilanova could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Nivaldo Taborda made a huge save. 44 minutes into the match, Coimbrões's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Baldaia came free, but Nivaldo Taborda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Ricardo Baldaia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cabaninhas's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricardo Baldaia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nivaldo Taborda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nivaldo Taborda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albertino Vilanova in the 47th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ricardo Baldaia to strike the kick off in the second half. Nivaldo Taborda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Baldaia in the 52nd minute of the match. Cabaninhas's Fábio Borba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geraldo Castanheira in the 54th minute of play. After 56 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Coimbrões! Cesário Pegado shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. The supporters of Cabaninhas booed when Coimbrões was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Meira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricardo Baldaia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nivaldo Taborda stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Albertino Vilanova's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Olívio Calçada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fábio Borba having to interfere. In the 71st minute Albertino Vilanova shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nivaldo Taborda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Coimbrões's Nivaldo Taborda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Baldaia in the 83rd minute of play. After 84 played minutes Coimbrões got a freekick which was hit by Rogério Quintas. Murilo Ruas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nivaldo Taborda having to interfere. 90 minutes into the game, Cabaninhas's Albertino Vilanova nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nivaldo Taborda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. In the 97th minute, Olívio Calçada got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Cabaninhas fully deserved thier win.
