Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Heitor Abreu got the match started through his kick off. With a little luck, Ganilhos's Cândido Cunha got control of the ball when Rodrigo Ribeiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 6 minutes, Rodrigo Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Abrunheira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodrigo Ribeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 11 minutes into the match, Abrunheira's goal looked a bit too open when Heitor Abreu came free, but Miguel Guarda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raul Azevedo in the 13th minute of play forced Ganilhos's goalkeeper Cândido Cunha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miguel Guarda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandro Nogueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 17thth minute of the game Sandro Nogueira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Abrunheira's Miguel Guarda was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Abrunheira's zone, Sandro Nogueira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miguel Guarda came out of the goal and Sandro Nogueira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rodrigo Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Cândido Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th minute Raul Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cândido Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Abrunheira's Raul Azevedo in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ganilhos's goalie prevented a goal. Raul Azevedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cândido Cunha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. When Abrunheira's Raul Azevedo in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ganilhos's goalie prevented a goal. Cândido Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raul Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jorge Mota recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ganilhos's defense didn't have a chance, in the 42nd minute, when Jorge Mota scored to the left of an out of position Cândido Cunha, making the score, 1-0. In the 45th minute, one of Ganilhos:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ganilhos. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Raul Azevedo made a kick off. A collision led to Ganilhos getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Alfredo Setúbal hit a great ball. In the 55thth minute of the game Raul Azevedo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ganilhos's Cândido Cunha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Miguel Guarda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Pinheiro in the 64th minute of play. Raul Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rodrigo Ribeiro struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Cândido Cunha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Abrunheira. In the 69th match minute, Abrunheira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raul Azevedo to maneuver through the defense. Raul Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Abrunheira booed when Ganilhos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Setúbal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rodrigo Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Heitor Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ganilhos's supporters rose to their feet, but Heitor Abreu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Miguel Guarda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Duarte Silva hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Sandro Nogueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Guarda having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Raul Azevedo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cândido Cunha was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Rodrigo Ribeiro struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Cândido Cunha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Abrunheira. Raul Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cândido Cunha having to interfere. Abrunheira's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
