The referee ignored SC Rombarral's protests and gave Josué Pacheco a yellow card for diving instead. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Sampaio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Manuel Costa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Nunes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Osvaldo Paião got free with João Delgado in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 67 minutes into the game, Osvaldo Paião lined in a short shot 2-1 behind a frustrated João Delgado. Salvador Pinheiro was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 71st minute. SC Rombarral's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. A collision led to Borussia de Machico getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Cristiano Carneiro hit a great ball. SC Rombarral's Cassiano Vilaverde couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Borussia de Machico. SC Rombarral's Samuel Sobral shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 76th minute of play. The shot was stopped by João Delgado but with some difficulty. The supporters of Borussia de Machico booed when SC Rombarral was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Salvador Pinheiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79thth minute of the game Christopher Eckardt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Rombarral's Pedro Nunes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. SC Rombarral's Pedro Nunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Costa in the 82nd minute of play. 84 minutes into the game, Manuel Costa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Pedro Nunes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Christopher Eckardt came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Borussia de Machico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christopher Eckardt couldn't finish the play. In the 90th minute Christopher Eckardt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Nunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manuel Costa took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedro Nunes. Pedro Nunes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Borussia de Machico fully deserved thier win.
