In the 7th minute Filinto Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nuno Figueiredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Nuno Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 13 minutes into the match, Insanity FC's goalkeeper Jorge Malta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lourenço Martins. In the 15th minute, Manuel Seixas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Nuno Leal came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the FC INTER fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nuno Leal couldn't finish the play. Jorge Malta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Aleixo in the 21st minute of play. After 24 played minutes Carlos Gomes rounded Insanity FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. In the 28th match minute, FC INTER was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Aleixo to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to FC INTER getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Carlos Gomes hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, FC INTER's Basílio Pedroso got a free kick in the 32nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Manuel Aleixo during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Insanity FC booed when FC INTER was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Aleixo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nuno Leal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Tomás Nascimento in the 43rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by FC INTER's Manuel Aleixo. Insanity FC's Jorge Malta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Insanity FC from getting a goal against them. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

52 minutes into the match, Paulo Viana had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jorge Malta. Insanity FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paulo Viana was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Xavier Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. After 59 minutes, Simão Belém mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Insanity FC and the FC INTER players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Insanity FC's Simão Belém got a free kick in the 59th minute. After some careless play in the Insanity FC defense, Nuno Leal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jorge Malta. The Insanity FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jorge Malta should have stopped the shot. With 68 minutes on the clock, Manuel Aleixo commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 69th minute, Manuel Aleixo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Alex Montenegro from long distance, 70 minutes into the match, got Nuno Figueiredo's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Insanity FC's Jorge Malta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Leal in the 72nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Nuno Leal managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC INTER's supporters rose to their feet, but Nuno Leal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorge Malta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nuno Leal in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jorge Malta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Daniel Pedroso's late challenge caught a FC INTER's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Daniel Pedroso helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Insanity FC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Daniel Pedroso hit a great ball. Nuno Leal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Malta having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the FC INTER players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
