Spectators: 6681 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Luís Andrade took the kick off in the first half of the match. After having played for 3 minutes, Eusébio Figueiredo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sobral's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eusébio Figueiredo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luís Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Nicolau Aleixo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Flandes's goalkeeper Nicolau Aleixo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eusébio Figueiredo. Flandes's Nicolau Aleixo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Andrade in the 13th minute of play. Nicolau Aleixo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Flandes's goalkeeper Nicolau Aleixo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vivaldo Figueiras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hamilton Amaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Borba having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Flandes's zone, Alexandre Fonseca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicolau Aleixo came out of the goal and Alexandre Fonseca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 32nd minute, Luís Andrade left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sobral fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Flandes's Nicolau Aleixo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Flandes from getting a goal against them. Nicolau Aleixo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Andrade in the 38th minute of play. Eusébio Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolau Aleixo having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Vicente Porto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Sobral booed when Flandes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingos Teixeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicolau Aleixo acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 47th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Paulo Pinho. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vivaldo Figueiras was the one to do the kick off. Eusébio Figueiredo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nicolau Aleixo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Domingos Teixeira kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. The supporters of Flandes booed when Sobral was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. António Almeida didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicolau Aleixo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Andrade's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vivaldo Figueiras in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck André Borba prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nicolau Aleixo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eusébio Figueiredo in the 73rd minute of the match. After 74 minutes, Luís Andrade made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Flandes's Nicolau Aleixo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Eusébio Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eusébio Figueiredo struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Nicolau Aleixo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sobral. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Andrade in the 83rd minute of play forced Flandes's goalkeeper Nicolau Aleixo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vicente Porto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
