If Amável Toscano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 14 minutes Estoi FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Valentim Granja who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Adalberto Festas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Lisandro Magalhães quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Álvaro Fidalgo kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Sabino Calado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herberto Mascarenhas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute, André Estrada hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. André Estrada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lisandro Magalhães having to interfere. Laércio Raposo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mascarenhas FC's António Horta got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 36th minute, Timóteo Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when André Estrada got free with Lisandro Magalhães in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mascarenhas FC's Sabino Calado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amável Toscano in the 39th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Estoi FC's Herberto Mascarenhas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sabino Calado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sabino Calado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herberto Mascarenhas, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Herberto Mascarenhas might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sabino Calado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Herberto Mascarenhas ran back to his position shaking his head. Amável Toscano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sabino Calado having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Herberto Mascarenhas got free with Sabino Calado in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Laércio Raposo charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Laércio Raposo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Mascarenhas FC's Laércio Raposo got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Amável Toscano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Mascarenhas FC defense, Herberto Mascarenhas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sabino Calado. The Mascarenhas FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sabino Calado should have stopped the shot. Sabino Calado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amável Toscano in the 62nd minute of play. After having played for 64 minutes, André Estrada managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mascarenhas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Estrada was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Estoi FC's Lisandro Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laércio Raposo in the 74th minute of play. When Timóteo Freitas was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 75 minutes had been played. After a defensive mix-up in Estoi FC's zone, Laércio Raposo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lisandro Magalhães came out of the goal and Laércio Raposo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 86 played minutes Estoi FC got a freekick which was hit by Delfim Macieira. Lisandro Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laércio Raposo in the 87th minute of play. Herberto Mascarenhas struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Sabino Calado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Estoi FC. Graciano Souto might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sabino Calado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Graciano Souto ran back to his position shaking his head. The Estoi FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
