Spectators: 6681 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alcino Mesquita started the match with the kick off. In the 4th match minute, SC Requiao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eurico Caires to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Petigueiras getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Adelino Leite hit a great ball. In the 10th minute, Duarte Andrade left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Requiao fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Alcino Mesquita scored 0-2 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gonçalo Cruz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alcino Mesquita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Cruz having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Adelino Leite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eurico Caires, 28 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Rafael Soares kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 34th minute Alcino Mesquita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonçalo Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of SC Requiao booed when Petigueiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mário Bessa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 41st minute Alcino Mesquita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonçalo Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Rafael Soares was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 41 minutes had been played. In the 42nd match minute, Petigueiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Soares to maneuver through the defense. Eurico Caires took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gonçalo Cruz. Petigueiras's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Alcino Mesquita came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the SC Requiao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alcino Mesquita couldn't finish the play. If Valdemar Roriz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half SC Requiao were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vítor Silva to make the kick off. Alcino Mesquita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Gonçalo Cruz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vítor Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 67 minutes, Gonçalo Cruz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Petigueiras's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Alcino Mesquita 69 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-3. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 75th minute of the game. One of SC Requiao:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Petigueiras:s goal. The referee gave Petigueiras a penalty, 77 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Adelino Leite, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SC Requiao's Claudemiro Sales. 1-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Duarte Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Requiao's supporters rose to their feet, but Duarte Andrade was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gonçalo Cruz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Torcato Frois came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the SC Requiao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Torcato Frois couldn't finish the play. Duarte Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vítor Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 99th minute. Claudemiro Sales tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Requiao's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
