Kevin Caneira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Heitor Monteiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kevin Caneira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Heitor Monteiro in the 10th minute of the match. In the 11th minute Heitor Monteiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Caneira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SCPORTUGAL's Kevin Caneira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save SCPORTUGAL from getting a goal against them. Valentim Dantas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Afonso Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Donato Paredes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Duarte Santos took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kevin Caneira. Kevin Caneira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 30 minutes into the match, SC Castela's Duarte Santos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kevin Caneira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Heitor Monteiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Kevin Caneira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kevin Caneira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heitor Monteiro in the 43rd minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Heitor Monteiro to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Duarte Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Castela's supporters rose to their feet, but Duarte Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kevin Caneira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Valentim Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Silva having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in SCPORTUGAL's zone, Heitor Monteiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kevin Caneira came out of the goal and Heitor Monteiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Valentim Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 71 minutes, Valentim Dantas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SCPORTUGAL's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valentim Dantas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Duarte Santos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duarte Santos in the 78th minute of play forced SCPORTUGAL's goalkeeper Kevin Caneira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 82 minutes into the match, SCPORTUGAL's goal looked a bit too open when Inácio Viegas came free, but Kevin Caneira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 83rd minute Duarte Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Caneira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 84 minutes, Adérito Manso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SCPORTUGAL and the SC Castela players grew even worse after the yellow card. Adérito Manso hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Valentim Dantas's late challenge caught a SC Castela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valentim Dantas helped the player get up and apologised. Afonso Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Paredes in the 87th minute of play. SC Castela's supporters rose to their feet, but Inácio Viegas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kevin Caneira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. SCPORTUGAL's Kevin Caneira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duarte Santos in the 97th minute of play. SCPORTUGAL's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
