Outeirense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jorge Martins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 18th minute, Zarco Gama hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Cresenciano Grijan put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of João Pestana. 34 minutes into the match, Verdoejo F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Martins came free, but João Pestana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alcino Franco hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. João Pestana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cresenciano Grijan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Verdoejo F. C.'s zone, Cresenciano Grijan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Pestana came out of the goal and Cresenciano Grijan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 46th minute of the game. One of Verdoejo F. C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of F.C. Outeirense:s goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adolfo Machado was the one to do the kick off. Henk Bauwmans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adolfo Machado in the 55th minute of play. Jorge Martins could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but João Pestana made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Cresenciano Grijan put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of João Pestana. João Pestana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeremias Cosme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
