Gaspar Fagundes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Gago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute, Palmiro Gameiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute, Gaspar Rebocho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Armindo Calçada's late challenge caught a SC Almendras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. SC Quinteiro's Carlos Neiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save SC Quinteiro from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amadeu Caldas got free with Carlos Neiva in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gaspar Fagundes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Humberto Gago's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. The audience was convinced that Jerónimo Bacelar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Neiva was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Amadeu Caldas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Neiva having to interfere. Carlos Neiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerónimo Bacelar, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Humberto Gago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Almendras's Jerónimo Bacelar got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 41st minute Armindo Calçada suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

51 minutes into the match, SC Quinteiro's goal looked a bit too open when Amadeu Caldas came free, but Carlos Neiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A very good chance. After 70 minutes of play, SC Almendras's Jerónimo Bacelar made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlos Neiva was left in no man's land by his defense there! Amadeu Caldas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 82 minutes into the match, SC Quinteiro's goal looked a bit too open when Amadeu Caldas came free, but Carlos Neiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gaspar Rebocho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gaspar Fagundes having to interfere. In the 89th minute of the match Higino Fraga sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlos Neiva skillfully saved the ball. If Amadeu Caldas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the SC Quinteiro players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SC Almendras.
