Bento Mota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Malafaia having to interfere. After 41 played minutes Cabenco got a freekick which was hit by Bento Mota. 46 minutes into the match, Cabenco's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Montenegro came free, but Cristiano Moutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bento Mota to make the kick off. If Bento Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomás Moura couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Cabenco's Tomás Moura got a free kick in the 66th minute. Alex Montenegro came free with the goalkeeper in the 73rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Cristiano Moutinho could save by the left post. If Alex Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cabenco's goalkeeper Cristiano Moutinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cristiano Moutinho made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Alex Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. Fundação Marisa Fernandes's José Moura shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 94th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Cristiano Moutinho but with some difficulty. Fundação Marisa Fernandes's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
