An unexpectedly hard shot by Estevão Lameiras in the 14th minute of play forced Exel FC's goalkeeper Paulo Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexandre Faro kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexandre Faro during the 16th minute. With a little luck, SC Rapa's Geraldo Candeias got control of the ball when Luiz Eduardo de Carvalho tried to sneak it across the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Estevão Lameiras stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Geraldo Candeias stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Eduardo de Carvalho's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in SC Rapa fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 70th minute. Penalty! The supporters of SC Rapa booed when Exel FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bobby Arnecke didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th minute, one of SC Rapa:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Rapa. António Lopes placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! 79 minutes into the game, Exel FC's Luiz Eduardo de Carvalho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Geraldo Candeias made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. In the 82nd minute, Luiz Eduardo de Carvalho made a precise shot to the right of Geraldo Candeias. SC Rapa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. In the 90th play minute Estevão Lameiras came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Paulo Simões. 5-2. Luiz Eduardo de Carvalho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 99th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luiz Eduardo de Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 101st minute. Geraldo Candeias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Exel FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
