A collision led to Carreco FC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Adelino Veloso hit a great ball. Cristiano Vieira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 5th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aparício Roriz. Carreco FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Eduardo Palma hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vasco's goalkeeper Daniel Paredes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Carreco FC's Aparício Roriz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artur Miranda in the 12th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Carreco FC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Nascimento came free, but Aparício Roriz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 17 minutes, Rodolfo Guerreiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carreco FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodolfo Guerreiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Artur Miranda's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aparício Roriz was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Artur Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Aparício Roriz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aparício Roriz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artur Miranda in the 29th minute of play. After 34 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Carreco FC! The referee gave Vasco a penalty, 35 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Cristiano Vieira, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Carreco FC's Aparício Roriz. 0-1. Aparício Roriz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Miranda in the 40th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Nascimento in the 42nd minute of play forced Carreco FC's goalkeeper Aparício Roriz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Daniel Paredes managed to avoid a goal in the 45thth minute, when Carreco FC's Pedro Lopes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Rodolfo Guerreiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The wind increased when Artur Miranda made the kick off in the second half. Pedro Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Daniel Paredes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Carlos Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vasco's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Nascimento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aparício Roriz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Artur Miranda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Nascimento might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aparício Roriz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Nascimento ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Artur Miranda in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aparício Roriz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Artur Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 68 minutes into the match, Carreco FC's goalkeeper Aparício Roriz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carlos Nascimento. 72 minutes into the match, Carreco FC's goal looked a bit too open when Artur Miranda came free, but Aparício Roriz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aparício Roriz didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 73rd minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. Carlos Nascimento scored 0-3 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aparício Roriz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Artur Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Vasco had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
