João Trigueiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 15th minute of the match Mondays sucks got a corner. Sanfins FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Adolfo Quirino ran over to the corner to take the kick. Mondays sucks's Adolfo Quirino was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but João Trigueiro in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. João Trigueiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Palmiro Caires, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Nuno Graça kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Silvério Estrada scored 0-2 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of João Trigueiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rodolfo Coimbra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Rodolfo Coimbra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sanfins FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodolfo Coimbra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Américo Toscano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sanfins FC's João Trigueiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Palmiro Caires in the 34th minute of play. A hard shot by Sandro Valério from long distance, 37 minutes into the match, got Américo Toscano's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Américo Toscano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honorato Matos in the 38th minute of play. Honorato Matos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Américo Toscano having to interfere. The Sanfins FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mondays sucks were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Honorato Matos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Palmiro Caires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodolfo Coimbra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Américo Toscano having to interfere. When Sanfins FC's Honorato Matos in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mondays sucks's goalie prevented a goal. In the 59th minute, Honorato Matos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Américo Toscano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Honorato Matos, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Américo Toscano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodolfo Coimbra in the 65th minute of the match. After having played for 71 minutes, Palmiro Caires managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mondays sucks's supporters crossed their fingers, but Palmiro Caires was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joel Maia charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joel Maia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Silvério Estrada recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Sanfins FC's João Trigueiro got control of the ball when Silvério Estrada tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Honorato Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Mondays sucks supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mondays sucks would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
