Martinzes's Manuel Ribeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Brás fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gaspar Soares having to interfere. Gaspar Soares was out of position in the 34 minute of play, and José Cunha capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. José Cunha really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After 39 minutes of play, Martinzes's Alfredo Henriques made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. João Porto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bento Matias kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. If Daniel Brás had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Alfredo Henriques made the kick off in the second half. Augusto Paiva's late challenge caught a Martinzes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Augusto Paiva helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 52nd minute of the game. One of Cabanoes:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Martinzes:s goal. When the match had been going on for 54 minutes, Martinzes's Vítor Andrade got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of João Porto. Daniel Brás fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gaspar Soares having to interfere. After having played for 64 minutes, Glauco Dantas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cabanoes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Glauco Dantas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Brás received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Gaspar Soares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gaspar Soares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Brás in the 69th minute of play. If Glauco Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricardo Figueiredo kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Cabanoes's José Cunha got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 76th minute, Alfredo Henriques fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Manuel Ribeiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but João Porto made a huge save. Cabanoes's João Porto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Cabanoes from getting a goal against them. In the 85th minute, Daniel Brás ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gaspar Soares was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. After 93 played minutes Martinzes got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Henriques. Daniel Brás sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
