Spectators: 7180 (Terracing: 5457, Seating: 1673, VIP seats: 50) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eliseu Macena started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Amaro in the 4th minute of play forced F.C. Melo's goalkeeper Telmo Alves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, F.C. Melo's Celso Póvoas got a free kick in the 5th minute. 9 minutes into the match, F.C. Melo's Eliseu Macena sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nuno Fernandes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Wilson Meira charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wilson Meira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to F.C. Melo getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Wilson Meira hit a great ball. In the 17th minute Rui Amaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Telmo Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SC Espiao's Manuel Soares got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SC Espiao's Nuno Fernandes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseu Macena in the 28th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Manuel Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Telmo Alves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nuno Fernandes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eliseu Macena went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. 79 minutes into the match, SC Espiao's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Santana came free, but Nuno Fernandes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, Pedro Santana had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nuno Fernandes. Melo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Fidalgo to maneuver through the defense. Many of SC Espiao's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. SC Espiao may have spent more time on the ball, but F.C. Melo were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
