The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 12 minutes into the game, Rogério Fonseca was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Coimbroes FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Possacos the free kick. After a rather tough play, Coimbroes FC's Rogério Fonseca got a free kick in the 13th minute. The supporters of Coimbroes FC booed when SC Possacos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Antunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Coimbroes FC's Vítor Gueifão got control of the ball when Anselmo Palhares tried to sneak it across the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Coimbroes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Antunes came free, but Vítor Gueifão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Francisco Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Possacos's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Antunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vítor Gueifão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Francisco Antunes might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vítor Gueifão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Francisco Antunes ran back to his position shaking his head. Emílio Vieira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Anselmo Palhares managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Possacos's supporters rose to their feet, but Anselmo Palhares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vítor Gueifão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Albertino Rios charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Albertino Rios the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Coimbroes FC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Jacinto Ferro hit a great ball. Vítor Gueifão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anselmo Palhares in the 46th minute. The SC Possacos players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Coimbroes FC were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Francisco Antunes was the one to do the kick off. SC Possacos's Anselmo Palhares got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Emílio Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cândido Baião took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Ribeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emílio Vieira in the 68th minute of play forced SC Possacos's goalkeeper Cândido Baião to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Francisco Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 71 minutes, Francisco Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Possacos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Antunes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 73rd play minutes Francisco Antunes shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Vítor Gueifão and just under the crossbar into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Palhares in the 84th minute of play forced Coimbroes FC's goalkeeper Vítor Gueifão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute, Rogério Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Coimbroes FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
