Spectators: 6681 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Pedroso started the match with the kick off. In the 15thth minute of the game Salvador Ponte who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paredao FC's Abel Leite was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Abel Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Máximo Baião in the 18th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sl benfica's Edgar Resende got a free kick in the 21st minute. Paredao FC's Abel Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sílvio Vargas in the 34th minute of play. Daniel Pedroso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Homero Quinaz during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Máximo Baião fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Leite having to interfere. In the 56th match minute, Paredao FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rui Faro to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Homero Quinaz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sl benfica's supporters rose to their feet, but Homero Quinaz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abel Leite breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Sílvio Vargas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Abel Leite was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Paredao FC's zone, Sílvio Vargas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abel Leite came out of the goal and Sílvio Vargas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Sl benfica's Sílvio Vargas got a free kick in the 80th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Edgar Resende managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sl benfica's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgar Resende was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abel Leite breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edgar Resende struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Abel Leite didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sl benfica. 87 minutes into the match, Edgar Resende had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Abel Leite. Paredao FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgar Resende was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Gaspar Travassos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Pedroso in the 97th minute of the match. Rui Nogueira hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. Sl benfica's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
