Spectators: 6681 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Emílio Antunes made the kick off which started today's match. After a defensive mix-up in Valbona's zone, Emílio Antunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alberto Coutinho came out of the goal and Emílio Antunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sandrinho de Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Alberto Coutinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emílio Antunes got free with Alberto Coutinho in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 11th match minute, Merdosos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodrigo Amaro to maneuver through the defense. In the 12th minute, Hilário Graça ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alberto Luz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. If Reinaldo Vilanova had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 17 minutes into the game, Catarino Torres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Merdosos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Valbona the free kick. Catarino Torres hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. 28 minutes into the match, Valbona's goal looked a bit too open when Emílio Antunes came free, but Alberto Coutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Bernardo Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandrinho de Castro in the 36th minute of play forced Valbona's goalkeeper Alberto Coutinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hilário Graça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Luz having to interfere. 41 minutes into the match, Valbona's goalkeeper Alberto Coutinho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sandrinho de Castro. Sandrinho de Castro was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 42nd minute. Merdosos's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Sandrinho de Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hilário Graça made a kick off. After 55 played minutes Valbona got a freekick which was hit by Aparício Abreu. Artur Viana missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 57 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Alberto Coutinho right hand side. Hilário Graça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Alberto Luz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Júlio Lages during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Valbona's Júlio Lages got a free kick in the 65th minute. When Emílio Antunes came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Merdosos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emílio Antunes couldn't finish the play. After 68 minutes of play, Merdosos's Sandrinho de Castro made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alberto Coutinho was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Emílio Antunes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alberto Coutinho was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. In the 74th minute, Sandrinho de Castro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emílio Antunes in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alberto Coutinho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Valbona booed when Merdosos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandrinho de Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 80th minute of the game. One of Valbona:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Merdosos:s goal. Emílio Antunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Alberto Coutinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th minute Emílio Antunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Coutinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alberto Coutinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandrinho de Castro in the 95th minute of play. If Emílio Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Merdosos fully deserved thier win.
