Emanuel Leão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donato Sobral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th match minute, LUJO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Montenegro to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Modesto Umbruso kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Virgílio Montenegro. That made the score 1-0 in the 15 minute of play. Rui Jesus placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! If Modesto Umbruso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Virgílio Montenegro was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Humberto Rodrigues showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 23 minute of play. The supporters of TAVIRA SC booed when LUJO FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseu Vasconcelos didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Humberto Rodrigues came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the TAVIRA SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Humberto Rodrigues couldn't finish the play. 33 minutes into the game, Modesto Umbruso lined in a short shot 3-0 behind a frustrated Virgílio Montenegro. Modesto Umbruso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgílio Montenegro having to interfere. 46 minutes into the game, TAVIRA SC's Modesto Umbruso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Virgílio Montenegro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eliseu Vasconcelos was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Humberto Rodrigues notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of LUJO FC's Virgílio Montenegro. Virgílio Montenegro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 60 minutes into the match, LUJO FC's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Rodrigues came free, but Virgílio Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 63 minutes, Humberto Rodrigues made it 6-0 with a short kick to the right side. LUJO FC's Virgílio Montenegro tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Virgílio Montenegro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Modesto Umbruso, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. LUJO FC's Virgílio Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Modesto Umbruso in the 68th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Modesto Umbruso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The TAVIRA SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. In the 74th minute Eliseu Vasconcelos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 76 minutes of play, TAVIRA SC's Modesto Umbruso made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Virgílio Montenegro was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 79th minute, Jorge Leal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80th minute of the match Humberto Rodrigues shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Virgílio Montenegro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 81 minutes, Eliseu Vasconcelos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LUJO FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eliseu Vasconcelos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Modesto Umbruso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute Humberto Rodrigues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgílio Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Bruno Lessa fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored LUJO FC's protests and gave Bruno Lessa a yellow card for diving instead. 92 minutes into the match, LUJO FC's goal looked a bit too open when Modesto Umbruso came free, but Virgílio Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. TAVIRA SC had played much better football throughout.
