The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes Manager Zone Club got a freekick which was hit by Amílcar Carvalheira. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Cristóvão Tristão managed to get in a good position for a shot. Catassol's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristóvão Tristão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gastão Oliveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 13thth minute of the game Cristóvão Tristão who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Manager Zone Club's Gastão Oliveira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gastão Oliveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cândido Barcelos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute, Amílcar Carvalheira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Manager Zone Club's Gastão Oliveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cândido Barcelos in the 19th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristóvão Tristão in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gastão Oliveira saved Manager Zone Club from getting behind. Catassol's attentive Gualter Sales managed to snatch the ball when Xavier Silva made a throw-in in the 36th minute of the game. The supporters of Catassol booed when Manager Zone Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adriano Castelo Branco didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Amílcar Carvalheira dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alexandrino Taborda, 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lúcio Rodrigues to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Hélder Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandrino Taborda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 53rd minute, Gualter Sales hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 57 in the game by Cristóvão Tristão from a close distance when the talented Gastão Oliveira managed to make a qualified save. Manager Zone Club's players were relieved. Cristóvão Tristão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 70 minutes into the game, Cristóvão Tristão cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Gastão Oliveira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cristóvão Tristão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gastão Oliveira having to interfere. Martinho Valverde recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Manager Zone Club booed when Catassol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gualter Sales didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristóvão Tristão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 87 minutes, Cristóvão Tristão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catassol's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristóvão Tristão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristóvão Tristão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Gastão Oliveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Baltasar Madeira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Catassol's supporters rose to their feet, but Baltasar Madeira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gastão Oliveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Manager Zone Club's Ivan Cabral got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Catassol's Cândido Barcelos got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristóvão Tristão who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 96thth minute tested the skills of Gastão Oliveira when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 97 minutes, Gualter Sales managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catassol's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gualter Sales was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Manager Zone Club succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Catassol had controlled the match.
