Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 5 minutes into the game, Juliano Mourinho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Laje's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Marzagao the free kick. In the 8th minute, SC Marzagao's Leal Sampaio ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Celso Macena. Celso Macena yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Laje's Celso Macena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Laje from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Laje's zone, Hélio Vaz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celso Macena came out of the goal and Hélio Vaz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Celso Macena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hélio Vaz in the 28th minute. Leal Sampaio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Celso Macena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Celso Macena didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hélio Vaz went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Laje's zone, Hélio Vaz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celso Macena came out of the goal and Hélio Vaz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sandro Nogueira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Leal Sampaio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celso Macena read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Hélio Vaz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Celso Macena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eduardo Cardoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Eduardo Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Marzagao's supporters rose to their feet, but Eduardo Cardoso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celso Macena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Hélio Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Celso Macena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélio Vaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. When Sandro Nogueira came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Laje fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sandro Nogueira couldn't finish the play. In the 85th minute, Leal Sampaio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Celso Macena was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Hélio Vaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Celso Macena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antero Tomé's late challenge caught a SC Marzagao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Antero Tomé helped the player get up and apologised. Antero Tomé kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. SC Marzagao's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
