Zona J FC's Jorge Brandão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Faria in the 5th minute of play. After 8 played minutes, Nakata Team's Álvaro Coelho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jorge Brandão came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Nakata Team reached it. Daniel Andrade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valentim Patrício in the 11th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Nakata Team's Alfredo Neves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jorge Brandão narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nakata Team's Alfredo Neves got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 19 minutes into the match, Caetano Nogueira notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Nakata Team's Daniel Andrade. Daniel Andrade was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 22 minutes into the match, Paulo Jesus had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jorge Brandão. Zona J FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paulo Jesus was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Jorge Brandão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Paulo Jesus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nakata Team's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Jesus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorge Brandão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 45th match minute, Zona J FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laureano Henriques to maneuver through the defense. Paulo Jesus's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jorge Brandão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
52 minutes into the game, Nakata Team's Alfredo Neves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jorge Brandão made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Paulo Jesus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 56 played minutes Zona J FC got a freekick which was hit by Jordão Pinto. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Zona J FC's goalkeeper Jorge Brandão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 61st match minute, Zona J FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caetano Nogueira to maneuver through the defense. If Paulo Jesus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Zona J FC's zone, Alfredo Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorge Brandão came out of the goal and Alfredo Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 81 minutes, Paulo Jesus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nakata Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Jesus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 82 minutes, João Barros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nakata Team and the Zona J FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Paulo Jesus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Jorge Brandão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jorge Brandão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jordão Pinto kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match.
