Seating: 1650, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Pedro Madeira took the kick off in the first half of the match. After some careless play in the Monfirre defense, Adérito Linhares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Diamantino Aguiar. The Monfirre fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Diamantino Aguiar should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Monfirre's Daniel Esteves got a free kick in the 12th minute. After 15 minutes of play, The Friends United's Pedro Madeira made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Diamantino Aguiar was left in no man's land by his defense there! 26 minutes into the match, Monfirre's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Madeira came free, but Diamantino Aguiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulo Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. João Baía tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 36 minutes into the match, The Friends United's goalkeeper João Baía had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eusébio Nunes. Diamantino Aguiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Madeira in the 38th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, Monfirre's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Madeira came free, but Diamantino Aguiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Madeira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Diamantino Aguiar having to make a save. After the first half The Friends United were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulo Carvalho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A nice corner shot did that Rodrigo Pedroso got away a dangerous shot. Despite this João Baía quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Carvalho in the 56th minute of play forced The Friends United's goalkeeper João Baía to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Madeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diamantino Aguiar having to interfere. Diamantino Aguiar made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Adérito Linhares sent off a good shot on target. Diamantino Aguiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Madeira in the 69th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Monfirre's zone, Adérito Linhares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diamantino Aguiar came out of the goal and Adérito Linhares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adérito Linhares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Diamantino Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nuno Setúbal kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Pedro Madeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diamantino Aguiar having to interfere. 88 minutes into the match, Eusébio Nunes notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of The Friends United's João Baía. João Baía was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pedro Madeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Diamantino Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lucas Valério sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Paulo Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Friends United's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
