Miguel Nogueira kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Pedro Carvalho charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pedro Carvalho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 11 played minutes Costeira FC got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Carvalho. SC Vermelhos's Rui Barros couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 12th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Costeira FC. In the 16th minute Diamantino Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Patrício saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Aloísio Lameirinhas came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the SC Vermelhos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aloísio Lameirinhas couldn't finish the play. Diamantino Neto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Ramos, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After 24 played minutes, Costeira FC's Sebastião Pires shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marco Patrício came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Costeira FC reached it. Sandro Vale took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marco Patrício. Marco Patrício dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After 35 played minutes Costeira FC got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Carvalho. Marco Patrício showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diamantino Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Diamantino Cunha was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandro Vale in the 55th minute of play forced SC Vermelhos's goalkeeper Marco Patrício to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sandro Vale's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marco Patrício read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Diamantino Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Ramos in the 67th minute of play. If Aloísio Lameirinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 76 played minutes Costeira FC got a freekick which was hit by Diamantino Cunha. 82 minutes into the match, SC Vermelhos's goal looked a bit too open when Diamantino Cunha came free, but Marco Patrício reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Costeira FC's Pedro Carvalho got his second yellow card of the match in the 84th minute. The referee ordered Pedro Carvalho off the ground. The supporters of SC Vermelhos booed when Costeira FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Armando Ramos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diamantino Neto having to interfere.
