In the 15th minute Domingos Rangel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salvador Morais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of FZZ Sport Club booed when SCBraga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingos Rangel in the 29th minute of play forced SCBraga's goalkeeper Salvador Morais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Reis struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Salvador Morais didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FZZ Sport Club. 41 minutes into the match, SCBraga's goalkeeper Salvador Morais had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cássio Rijo. If Domingos Rangel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, FZZ Sport Club's João Soares got a free kick in the 44th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Artur Torres was the one to do the kick off. Gentil Loureiro hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Jorge Esteves made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Afonso Porto sent off a good shot on target. Artur Torres charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Artur Torres the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 63rd minute, Artur Torres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Ivo Ponte struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Salvador Morais didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FZZ Sport Club. There was no doubt that FZZ Sport Club were the better team. FZZ Sport Club's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
