In the 23rd minute, Horácio Nascimento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 26 minutes into the game, Talhadas's Ricardo Reis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carlos Carneiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by João Moreira during the 29th minute. Norsk:s Carlos Carneiro showed great skill when he stopped João Pereira:s penalty. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Augusto Vaz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Talhadas's supporters rose to their feet, but Augusto Vaz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Carneiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Ricardo Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Norsk's zone, Jorge Leão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Carneiro came out of the goal and Jorge Leão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carlos Carneiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ricardo Reis's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. In the 46th minute Ricardo Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Carneiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Norsk's Carlos Carneiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Vaz in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Talhadas were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Rodolfo Malheiro made the kick off in the second half. Horácio Nascimento blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joaquim Nascimento having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Ricardo Reis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Carneiro was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. When Rodolfo Malheiro fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Norsk's protests and gave Rodolfo Malheiro a yellow card for diving instead. Rodolfo Malheiro kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Carlos Carneiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Augusto Vaz went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. The crowd rose to their feet as Ricardo Reis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Carlos Carneiro. That made the score 0-5 in the 78 minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, Norsk's goalkeeper Carlos Carneiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Augusto Vaz. Carlos Carneiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Reis in the 84th minute of the match. A collision led to Norsk getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Horácio Nascimento hit a great ball. Carlos Carneiro made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Augusto Vaz sent off a good shot on target. In the 99th minute, Ricardo Reis fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Carlos Carneiro, passed just outside the right post.
