After a rather tough play, Estrela Dourada FC's Heitor Teles got a free kick in the 15th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Estrela Dourada FC's zone, Adelino Freitas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Germano Guimarães came out of the goal and Adelino Freitas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joaquim Moreira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Afonso Nunes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Laureano Lamego in the 26th minute. José Soares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Afonso Nunes having to make a save. After 42 played minutes Estrela Dourada FC got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Palhares. Afonso Nunes was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Heitor Teles showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 44 minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell José Soares to make the kick off. The Estrela Dourada FC fans' excitement grew in the 51st match minute when Estrela Dourada FC's José Soares looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Carlos Palhares got his second yellow card in the match during the 62nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 63rd match minute, Estrela Dourada FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Palhares to maneuver through the defense. Germano Guimarães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Moreira in the 64th minute of the match. Germano Guimarães made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Adelino Freitas sent off a good shot on target. If Adelino Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laureano Lamego fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Nunes having to interfere. Heitor Teles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Laureano Lamego had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Germano Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Laureano Lamego in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Afonso Nunes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. For all the effort they put into the match, the SC Gramatinha players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Estrela Dourada FC.
