The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Américo Amorim during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Heitor Guerreiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Avelino Pedroso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rodrigo Dantas in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Avelino Pedroso saved Matacaes from getting behind. After some careless play in the Folgares FC defense, Reinaldo Madureira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marco Carneiro. The Folgares FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marco Carneiro should have stopped the shot. In the 27th minute Reinaldo Madureira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Carneiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marco Carneiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reinaldo Madureira, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. If Reinaldo Madureira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Folgares FC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Nuno Macedo hit a great ball. In the 42nd minute, Heitor Guerreiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Zacarias Palha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marco Carneiro was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. In the 48th minute, Óscar Moreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Reinaldo Madureira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigo Dantas in the 55th minute of play forced Matacaes's goalkeeper Avelino Pedroso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodrigo Dantas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Avelino Pedroso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 60 minutes, Reinaldo Madureira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Matacaes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reinaldo Madureira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Folgares FC's zone, Zacarias Palha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Carneiro came out of the goal and Zacarias Palha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 69th minute, Zacarias Palha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Matacaes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Marco Carneiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zacarias Palha in the 75th minute. Avelino Pedroso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Heitor Guerreiro in the 78th minute of the match. After 80 minutes Matacaes's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Henrique Moreira who took care of the corner kick. Folgares FC's Marco Carneiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinaldo Madureira in the 81st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Folgares FC's Américo Amorim got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Matacaes's Reinaldo Madureira got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reinaldo Madureira in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marco Carneiro saved Folgares FC from getting behind. When Américo Amorim was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 87 minutes had been played. Américo Amorim hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Reinaldo Madureira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Marco Carneiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Folgares FC's zone, Zacarias Palha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Carneiro came out of the goal and Zacarias Palha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reinaldo Madureira struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Marco Carneiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Matacaes. Zacarias Palha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Carneiro having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Matacaes left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Folgares FC.
